About Cobdown

Cobdown Hockey Club Mens 3rd team on a sunny day

Cobdown Hockey Club is a traditional, friendly club based in Aylesford, Kent. Running both Mens and Ladies field hockey teams plus involvement in youth hockey we are firmly embedded in the history and future of club hockey in kent.

Whilst there are trends for clubs to have to merge to form superclubs, Cobdown have proudly continued to field mens and ladies teams each week in the Kent League despite not having our own astroturf pitch at our clubhouse. We continue to occasionally play grass hockey on our pitch at Cobdown Sports Ground, whilst our league games are currently played on the Astro pitch at the Hundred of Hoo School.

We are actively pursuing involvement with several local schools who are considering installing all-weather surfaces and require local team support for the venture. These potential partnerships will ensure school children with an interest in hockey to further their ambitions by gaining valuable club experience. Cobdown have a history of enabling young players to play to their full potential within the team structure, rather than having limited opportunities at some larger clubs.

Should you wish to be involved in cobdown hockey club in a playing, social or administrative capacity then please contact us - we'd be very pleased to hear from you and welcome you into our family.
